Blue heart-shaped patches and flowy veil tosses.  Freshly cut flowers and hand-crafted crosses.  Coffee at weddings and bright diamond rings.  These are a few of my favorite things.  (Do you have Julie Andrews singing “My Favorite Things” in your head now?  You’re welcome.)

The moment I saw the hand-crafted cross adorned with freshly cut flowers, I had a feeling this wedding would be perfect.  John made both the cross and the stage with the help of his bride.  My feeling was validated when I started photographing all their details.  The cathedral length veil lined with lace, the pink perfume bottle, and the gold bracelet with a tied knot all had me swooning.  Then Dallas handed me a beautiful heart-shaped patch with her new monogram – the perfect something blue.

It was evident that every detail was meticulously planned.  And not just the bride and groom details.  Every table at the reception had floral centerpieces.  The chandelier inside the barn was surrounded by long, flowing drapes.  Twinkle lights covered the inside and outside of the barn.  As if my heart wasn’t full enough from all the elegant details and the perfectly coordinated fall color palette, I noticed a coffee bar in the corner of the barn.  There’s nothing better than a warm cup of coffee on a chilly evening.  Unless that cup is personalized, of course. 🙂

Dallas and John, thank you for including me in your wedding day!  It has been an honor to photograph your engagement session, bridal session, and now your wedding.  I’m so thankful that you fell in love with my work all those years ago.  I have enjoyed getting to know both of you over the last several months.  I can’t wait to see how your love continues to grow.  Have a great time honeymooning in Mexico!
