Downtown Gadsden Engagement Session

Posted in: Engagements/Couples

College has a way of bringing people together from different places and connecting them for a lifetime.  I met my husband in college.  We met some of our best friends in college.  The same is true for Gabby and Matt.  Their mutual friends introduced them to each other while they were in school at Huntington College.  She played basketball and was in a sorority.  He was a wrestler and was in a fraternity.

Even though Gabby lives in Tuscaloosa and Matt lives in Birmingham, they are getting married at J&D Farms in June 2020.  After searching for wedding venues in Alabama, Gabby fell in love with J&D Farms in Gadsden.  They wanted to do their engagement session in Gadsden since that’s where they would be getting married.  We met at the beautiful Federal Building downtown, then found the most adorable park on the river.  The rust-colored bridge made us wonder if we were in Gadsden or Chattanooga.

I met Gabby and Matt for the first time at their engagement session, but we quickly learned that it’s a small world.  As it turns out, Gabby lived in Mobile during my high school years and her dad coached basketball at Cottage Hill Christian Academy.  My husband, Weston, played basketball at Morgan Academy in Selma and they played each other a few times.  My favorite small world discovery is that Gabby and I are birthday twins!  We were both born on June 11!

Gabby and Matt, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding and engagement session!  You both looked stunning and classy!  I know I said it a lot during your session, but you seriously looked like models and posing seemed effortless for you.  I had so much fun with both of you and I’m super excited for your wedding day!
