It’s always an honor when families come back to me for portraits, and Chloe’s senior session felt like the perfect continuation of a journey we started years ago. I first met Chloe and her family nearly a decade ago, not long after I began my photography journey. Even back then, Chloe had a spark to her—one that has only grown brighter over the years. You can see her fun-loving personality throughout her portraits, but especially those last two. At the end of her session, I asked Chloe to show me her signature pose. As it turns out, I had a photo of her doing the same pose from that first session almost 10 years ago!
Chloe and her mom, Crickett, made the trip from Auburn for her senior portraits. What made Chloe’s session even more nostalgic for me was remembering the times I’d run into Crickett at the orthodontist’s office. Around the time I photographed their family, I started wearing braces. Crickett, as one of the orthodontist’s assistants, became a friendly and familiar face during those visits. She’d always greet me with a smile and cheer me on as I went through my own little transformation. Even though they’ve since moved to Auburn, thanks to Facebook, we’ve managed to keep in touch and follow each other’s lives.
Chloe is now preparing to take on her next big step: cosmetology school. Her passion for beauty and creativity really shines, and I have no doubt that she’ll bring the same energy and kindness I’ve seen in her over the years into her career. I can only imagine the joy she’ll bring to others through her work, just as her mom did for so many patients at the orthodontist’s office.
Capturing this chapter in Chloe’s life was truly a privilege. I love that photography allows me to be part of milestones like these and reconnect with friends after all these years. Thank you, Chloe, for trusting me to capture these memories. It’s been such a joy to watch you grow and to document this exciting time in your life!
