Layken’s senior session is proof that a little rain can’t dampen a great attitude! We had her session date set for weeks, but with storms in the forecast, we were keeping a close eye on the weather and brainstorming backup plans. Sure enough, just before her session, the skies were dark and it was pouring down. But instead of postponing, Layken said, “Let’s just go for it!”—even if that meant taking pictures in the rain.

Thankfully, we only had to dodge a few sprinkles at the beginning, and the rest of her session was under beautiful, soft clouds. We explored a few different locations, starting in a field before moving to the barn, then stopping near a friend’s house and their pond. The mix of rustic charm and natural beauty was the perfect setting for Layken’s portraits and she made every shot look effortless.

Layken is not only a part of my senior spokesmodel team this year but also assists in my daughter’s dance class. I’ve seen firsthand how encouraging and dedicated she is, especially with the little ones who adore her. She has a way of making others feel at ease, which is exactly how she approached her session—completely relaxed and willing to embrace the moment. Her session is a perfect example of why I love working with seniors. Each one brings their own personality, style, and story, and I get the privilege of capturing it all. 

Layken, thank you for braving the weather, for being such a wonderful part of my spokesmodel team, and for all the ways you pour into others—including the tiniest dancers! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things your future holds!
