Downtown Selma Anniversary Session

Posted in: Engagements/Couples

Back in 2017, Melissa contacted me about photographing her July wedding in Selma.  She explained that her fiancé, Davis, was in the military and the wedding date was subject to change.  Not a problem!  I was happy to be flexible for them.

I always try to do an engagement session with every couple before their wedding.  Due to Davis’s deployment, however, we would not be able to do an engagement session.  I offered to do a bridal session with Melissa instead, which we did on July 3.  Coincidentally, I was also a July bride and I took my bridal portraits on July 3, 2013.  During our session, Melissa pointed out that we were taking their anniversary photos on July 3!  I guess it was fate to take all our portraits on that date!

When we scheduled Melissa and Davis’s anniversary session, I immediately started scouting out locations in Selma.  There are so many hidden gems that are perfect for pictures!  We went to two favorite spots that I found and they did not disappoint.  We also took a few photos at the dreamy, historic Mabry-Jones house!  It’s one of my favorite houses in Selma and I have been blessed with the opportunity to shoot there on multiple occasions for the Jones family.

Melissa and Davis, thank you so much for allowing me to document your 3-year wedding anniversary!  Both of you were seriously stunning.  Weston can attest to the fact that I kept saying, “How are they so beautiful?” as I was editing your session haha.  I had such a great time with both of you!

I hope you always love each other a little more each day.  I hope you never get tired of life’s little adventures together.  And I hope you always look at each other the way you did on your wedding day!

Here’s a couple of my favorite shots from their wedding since I wasn’t blogging then! 🙂
