Six years ago, I photographed a wedding at Donavan Inn.  One of the bridesmaids at that wedding was Hayley.  When she first contacted me about photographing her wedding this year, she mentioned that she was a bridesmaid then and was familiar with my work.  What a huge compliment that she remembered me from a wedding that long ago!  Now she and her fiancé, Hunter, are getting married at Donavan Inn this October!

I met Hayley (again!) and Hunter at Capitol Park in Tuscaloosa for their engagement session.  The solid, light-colored walls of the old capitol building that burned in 1923 made my photographer heart happy.  However, the part of this park that appealed most to Hayley was a hidden flower garden we spotted on one side.  She loves gardening and just from listening to her, I can tell she has a green thumb.

Our next two locations deviated from our original plan, but it was definitely worth it!  On my way to the park, I had noticed the exterior of a shop just two blocks away that I thought Hayley would like since she loves gardens.  We stopped there for a few photos before deciding to go to a spot on the Tuscaloosa River Walk.  Hayley and Hunter changed outfits while I photographed Hayley’s gorgeous ring!  Then we walked for a while and stopped at a few scenic spots along the trail.  Just as we were leaving, Hayley saw a gorgeous area next to the water that we could access.  She and Hunter climbed down and kissed.  I think that last shot is definitely a favorite from their session!

Hayley and Hunter, thank you for choosing me to photograph your engagement session and wedding this year!  It means a lot to me that you remembered me from six years ago!  Both of you were naturals in front of the camera and it makes me so excited for your wedding day.  I can’t wait to see both of you again in October!
