“It’s like rain on your wedding day,” the wedding party began singing moments before the ceremony began. The clouds were rolling in. Gusts of wind were desperately trying to knock over everything in its path. Leaves were twirling in the air. Yet, I still consider this a perfect wedding day. Let me explain. We had already spent hours taking all the details and formal portraits. The skies were cloudy, but only enough to give us perfect lighting for all their portraits. Every detail was meticulously thought-out and gathered in advance for me to photograph. I told Hayley she was one of the most prepared brides I have ever had! From the hexagon-shaped ring box and wax seals to the clear invitations and heels that perfectly coordinated with her jewelry, every single detail had me drooling!
Hayley wanted their ceremony to start at sunset. I normally advise against this for outdoor weddings, especially if the couple decides not to do a first look. However, they opted to do a first look and take all the portraits before the ceremony. We finished all the photos with plenty of time to spare, which meant we could all relax in light of an impending downpour. Hayley and Hunter were totally up for getting married in the rain, but thankfully it held off until after the ceremony. Right after their first kiss as husband and wife, guests popped confetti cannons as Hayley and Hunter walked back up the aisle. What a fun way to kick off your marriage!
The table-sized charcuterie board and hedge walls with custom neon signs were the focal point inside the barn. Every type of food was artfully placed on the table. More hexagon shapes were prominent throughout the decorations. It was evident that Hayley had carefully chosen every element of their decorations and all her hard work paid off! Seriously, look at all the gorgeous details 🙂
Hayley and Hunter, thank you for remembering my work from your friend’s wedding six years ago and choosing me to photograph your wedding! That was already a huge compliment and then Hunter told me he actually *enjoyed* taking pictures on your wedding day. I know how much he hates taking pictures, so that really meant a lot to me. Everything was so perfect and I know I will be posting and sharing your wedding photos for years to come!
