When Oksana first told me she was engaged to Joze, she said they would be getting married in Biloxi and assumed it was too far for me to travel to photograph. I emphatically told her I would travel anywhere in the world to photograph her wedding! (And anyone else’s if you’re looking for a photographer 😉 ). We immediately started planning their engagement session and her bridal session.

The couple said their vows in the backyard of their new home in Biloxi, where Joze’s parents had built a gazebo specifically for the ceremony. The gazebo, a labor of love, became a symbol of the merging families, standing proud as a testament to Joze’s heritage. To add a personal touch, Joze’s father not only crafted the gazebo but also took on the role of the officiant, guiding the couple through their vows with heartfelt wisdom.

Oksana’s mother knit together the cozy blue shawl that Oksana wore following the ceremony. It was the perfect addition to keep her warm on that chilly day! What a special keepsake it will be for years to come!

The symbolism didn’t end there. As Oksana walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her father and twin brother Zachary, the moment was charged with emotion. Her gown held a secret treasure – her grandparents’ wedding rings, pinned inside just moments before she put on the dress. It was a poignant gesture, honoring the past while stepping into a future filled with love and commitment.

Oksana and Joze, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your intimate wedding at your new home. Everything was beautiful and it was an honor to witness your families coming together. I love how both of your families came together to create an extraordinary day for you. It is evident that you are both deeply loved! pray for a lifetime of happiness together!
