In Alabama, we know that hot and humid days are a part of summer weather. The heat can make outdoor weddings miserable, but Elizabeth and Kody had perfect weather for their wedding at Donavan Inn. It was sunny and cloudy when the day began and the clouds got progressively darker as time passed. It was hot, but the clouds made the weather cooler for portraits. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds when the ceremony began and the first drop of rain waited until the last person walked down the aisle at the end.
My photographer heart was thankful that Elizabeth and Kody had chosen to do a first look because we took most of their portraits before the ceremony and didn’t have to fight the rain. Everyone could relax and watch the rain trickle from the barn roof onto the lush green grass.
Elizabeth and Kody, thank you so much for asking me to photograph such important milestones in your lives! I have enjoyed getting to know you as I took your engagement and bridal photos. I loved watching Kody’s face light up when he saw Elizabeth and how you both smiled the biggest when you caught glimpses of each other. Have the best time on your cruise!
