Behind the Scenes 2019

Posted in: Behind the Scenes

At the end of each year, I love to pause and reflect on all the great things that happened.  This year was the best one yet and I am excited to share my 2019 Behind the Scenes photos with you!  I had some fantastic second shooters (and my sweet husband!) that took plenty of photos of me in action.

My main goal is to provide timeless images that will make you smile every time you see them.  We will do whatever we can to get that perfect veil toss photo and make sure your attire is picture perfect!

Whether it’s fluffing a veil, straightening a tie, or carrying your train, I’ll always make sure you look your best!

I got to work with some incredibly talented photographers and videographers this year!  Some of us met for the first time on the day of the wedding, but we instantly clicked.  There’s just something about creative minds that make it easy to work together – especially when we’re focused on YOU.

I try my best to take a selfie with every couple or senior, but it’s not always possible.  Here are the ones I was able to get this year!

Weston and I traveled to Vancouver, BC earlier this year and met the sweetest couple!  We traded sessions and went on a double date.  It was such a fun day!

Devon and I created this fun Instagram mural in downtown Selma and we got featured on WSFA!

I sometimes ask people to do crazy things at their session and I’m always amazed at how willing people are to do said crazy things.  It’s proof that I have the best clients!

I photographed children with a LIVE LAMB.  Not something I had planned on doing, but it was definitely a unique and fun experience!

Weston is the unsung hero of Ashley Brooke Photography.  He usually tags along on sessions that are out of town and he’s always willing to be my light test model.  There’s a long list of things he does to support my business and I am truly grateful.

One of the biggest challenges this year was photographing all these weddings and sessions while pregnant.  Our baby girl was born August 30, which means I was pregnant for 75 percent of the year.  I cannot thank you enough for trusting me with your photography during this season of our lives.

There were tons of food breaks, but only a handful with photographic evidence 😉

We got to experience the other side of the camera for a change.  My photography bestie, Aly, captured so many milestones for us this year!  Our pregnancy announcement and maternity session were among our favorites.

Another sweet photographer friend, Debby, captured our gender reveal party!

She also made sure to get cute photos of me and my bump when she second shot for me.

We decided to have two newborn sessions – one studio and one lifestyle session.  This is our first child and we wanted the full photography experience.  Is anyone surprised that a photographer wanted multiple newborn sessions? haha.

Weston and Camryn tagged along on my first session after she was born since I wasn’t cleared to drive yet.  Camryn clearly loved it though!

We even had requests to bring Camryn to other sessions!

Thank you again for such an incredible year!  I hope you enjoyed this peek into life behind my camera.  I’m looking forward to another fantastic year and I feel blessed to have been part of so many sweet moments!
