Do you want to know a senior guy mom’s number one request for his senior portraits?
“Will you get at least one photo of him smiling?”
Seriously, almost every senior guy session starts with mom saying that. Most guys just don’t like taking pictures and especially don’t like smiling in pictures. I make it my personal mission to not just get a smiling photo, but to get photos where they look genuinely happy.
I met Jackson and his mom at a beautiful home in Sardis, Alabama for Jackson’s senior portraits. We started on the front steps and Jackson played his guitar. I asked him to play for a few minutes to let me capture him in his element. Then I started directing him and getting those smiling photos for his mom!
Even though Jackson didn’t care much about pictures, he was a good sport the entire session. He even had a couple of ideas of his own, which I was thrilled to implement! It always makes the session more unique when I get to incorporate what the senior loves. One photo that he really wanted was him tossing up the football. It turned out great!
Not everyone can pull off a soft smile, myself included, but Jackson seemed to be a pro. His soft smile kind of resembles Flynn Rider’s smolder. Jackson apparently gets that a lot too! If you’re not familiar with Flynn Rider, you need to watch the movie Tangled. Like right now.
Jackson, thank you so much for going along with all the posing and prompts I gave you. You didn’t complain once and I am so pleased with how your senior portraits turned out! I am glad you enjoyed it more than you expected. Best of luck to you in the rest of your senior year! The best is yet to come!
