Samford University Engagement Session

Posted in: Engagements/Couples

Lauren and Evan’s love story began on the picturesque campus of Samford University at the beginning of their freshman year. Fate intervened at a welcome breakfast where their paths crossed for the first time. Little did they know this chance encounter would lay the foundation for a beautiful future together. Their love story continued to unfold during freshman year in the class they shared. Friendship blossomed into romance and they began dating their sophomore year. Now they are preparing to graduate in December and get married in January!

We met in front of the campus library, which was surrounded by local high schoolers taking pictures for what we assumed was homecoming. Lauren’s first outfit caught the eyes of many passersby with its breathtaking giant bow on the back. You wouldn’t know it from the pictures, but there were dozens of people near the background of our photos. I made sure to dodge them as much as possible!

What made this engagement session truly special was the fact that Lauren and Evan had never experienced professional photography before. They were constantly surprised at how good they looked on the back of my camera! It’s moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place – the ability to freeze time and capture raw emotions, allowing couples like Lauren and Evan to relive their love story for years to come.

As the sun set over Samford University, casting a warm, golden glow, I knew we had created something truly extraordinary. Our last stop on campus was the building where it all began. That building hosted the welcome breakfast where they met at the beginning of their college careers.

Lauren and Evan, thank you so much for trusting this internet stranger to capture your engagement session and upcoming wedding! It was so fun to hang out with both of you. I am grateful to have documented this part of your love story at the place where it all began. I can’t wait to see you both again when you become husband and wife in January!
