Our tale commences with Claire, the sister of one of my former grooms and the dearest friend of another radiant bride. She chose me to capture her own love story – a compliment that warms my heart. For Claire and her fiancé, Michael, the backdrop of choice for their engagement session was none other than the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. I was so excited when Claire said she wanted to take her engagement photos here because I have wanted to do a session here for years!

While I usually schedule sessions an hour or two hours before sunset, Claire had an early hair and makeup appointment. This prompted us to change our session time to 3:00 pm, nearly four hours before sunset. Little did we know, the early afternoon light would be just as magical as golden hour.

The first part of our session was crowd-free, which allowed us to capture intimate moments against the stunning architecture of the festival grounds. As we strolled, a curious duck caught our attention as it gracefully dipped into a nearby water fountain.

Our final location, a charming stone bridge, was bustling with people. Though scenic, it was a favored spot for promenaders and those taking their prom photos. The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, known for its drama and romance, provided the perfect stage for capturing the love story unfolding before us.
