Gracie and Cooper’s love story began eight years ago when they were still in high school and it has been a joy to witness their relationship grow over the years. I first photographed them during Gracie’s senior portrait session, just a year after they started dating. We took a few sweet photos of them together and I knew even back then that there was something special about their bond. Fast forward to today, and it was an honor to capture their engagement session as they prepare for their wedding next April! We even recreated one of my favorite photos from Gracie’s senior session.
We spent most of the session at Orrville United Methodist Church, the beautiful white church where they will exchange their vows. From its all-white façade to the lush greenery around it, the church provided endless opportunities for gorgeous shots.
Of course, there were also plenty of laughs throughout the session! At one point, I asked Cooper to laugh at Gracie’s forehead (yes, it sounds strange, but I promise it works!). Cooper looked at me, amused, and asked, “Is that a real sentence?!” We all had a good laugh, and the resulting candid smiles were some of my favorite shots. I love moments like these that bring out the natural connection and playfulness between couples.
We wrapped up the session with a quick stop in front of the Orrville Farmers Market, which is owned by Cooper’s family. This final image was the perfect way to tie in a personal connection and create a memorable finish to their engagement photos.
Gracie and Cooper, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to document this special season of your lives! It was such a fun afternoon photographing you both and seeing the love you share. I can’t wait to see y’all again in April as you begin your next chapter as husband and wife!
These are amazing, Ashley! Thank you for truly capturing who they are. 🤍
