June and Justin’s engagement session at The Waters in Pike Road was a cold one! With their upcoming wedding set to take place at the stunning chapel, it felt only fitting to document their engagement at the very spot where their forever will begin. Despite the serene beauty of the location, we were greeted with less-than-serene weather—a brisk 38 degrees and gusts of bone-chilling wind that would make Winnie the Pooh himself call it “a rather blustery day.”
The cold didn’t stop us from capturing the warmth between these two. We began the session at the chapel, where the crisp white exterior stood strong against the winter sky. After a quick round of photos, we dashed to the car to defrost before venturing out again. Our next stop was the pier, where Justin and June braved the wind for some dreamy waterfront shots. The water rippled beneath us as they held each other close, their smiles making the chilly breeze seem almost like an afterthought. After another quick warm-up break in the car, we finished in the charming neighborhood in front of the chapel. The view of the white chapel on the hill was the perfect backdrop.
The cold may have quickened our pace, but it didn’t dampen the joy of the day. We captured just as many photos as usual, and every frame reflects the excitement and love these two share. Their energy and trust made the entire session a success, even in the face of winter’s chill.
June and Justin, thank you for trusting a stranger from the internet with this special moment in your lives. Your kindness and grace shone through in every moment, and I’m honored to photograph your engagement and your wedding day. I can’t wait to celebrate your love in this beautiful place again!
