Senior sessions with guys can sometimes be a challenge – most of them aren’t exactly thrilled about having their picture taken. But Jack? He was a great sport about it! A senior at Morgan Academy, Jack is a football player who spends his free time hunting and fishing. While he might be more comfortable on the field or out in the woods, he handled his session like a pro.
We lucked out with perfect weather for Jack’s session. The golden grass was glowing in the bright sunlight, creating a natural backdrop that perfectly complemented his easygoing personality. There’s something about the warm, golden tones of late afternoon light that makes senior sessions feel even more special. It gave his photos a rugged, outdoorsy vibe that fit him so well.
Jack kept things simple with classic outfits that showcased his style. We started with some casual shots in the open field, capturing his laid-back side. Then, of course, we had to incorporate football into the session—after all, it’s been such a big part of his high school experience. What you don’t see in the photos is Jack’s girlfriend off to the side throwing the football back and forth to Jack. It helped make those photos look more natural and less posed.
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is highlighting a student’s personality and passions. Since Jack enjoys hunting and fishing, we made sure to capture a few images that reflected that part of his life. It’s always fun to see seniors relax a little more when we incorporate things they love into their session.
Even though taking pictures wasn’t high on Jack’s list of favorite activities, you’d never know it from his portraits. He was cooperative – even when I asked for poses he wasn’t quite sure would look good. Like I tell all my clients, if it feels weird, it looks great!
Jack, thanks for making this session so easy and fun! I hope these photos capture this exciting season of your life in a way that feels true to who you are. Wishing you all the best as you finish senior year and head into whatever comes next!
