Some engagement sessions feel like they were simply meant to be. That was certainly the case with Mary Christie and Christian! These two have worked together at the bank for years, building not only their careers but also a beautiful relationship. I’ve known them both from my own previous jobs, and when they asked me to photograph their engagement session, I was truly honored.

They chose the perfect setting for their engagement photos, and as we wrapped up, Mary Christie casually mentioned that her favorite color is purple—just as I told her I’d been eager to photograph the wisteria this year. Talk about a win-win! She and Christian couldn’t have picked a better backdrop. The wisteria was in full bloom, draping beautifully around them and adding such a romantic touch to their portraits.

Of course, nature always has a way of keeping things interesting! As we approached the wisteria, we noticed a faint buzzing sound. The closer we got, the louder it became—until we realized we were surrounded by hundreds of bumblebees! If Mary Christie and Christian were nervous, they didn’t show it. They were too busy laughing together and soaking in the moment. Their calm, easygoing personalities made the session so much fun, and they handled every part of it with grace.

Of course, no engagement session would be complete without a special guest, and their sweet pup Maggie joined in for a few pictures. She was the perfect addition to an already beautiful afternoon. I think Maggie had the time of her life running around in a new place!
