Since America turned 250 years old this year, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do an Americana-themed session with my brand new spokesmodel team! We ended up scheduling our session a month earlier than usual so we could capture some fun photos before the Fourth of July. It turned out to be perfect timing because the girls who make my spokesmodel team are high achievers and go-getters, which also means they’re BUSY!

These nine spokesmodels represent four different schools, and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing two of them before. One is a legacy spokesmodel (her sister was on the team a few years ago) and I’ve photographed older siblings for two girls. Most of the others I met for the first time during one of my favorite traditions: delivering their welcome boxes! After I’ve reviewed all the applications and selected the team, I secretly coordinate with their moms to surprise them. It’s one of my favorite summer activities! To kick things off, we gathered in my backyard with plenty of American flags, confetti cannons, and most importantly – portable fans. I would argue it was easily the hottest day of the year! The humidity was so thick that we were all drenched in sweat by the time we finished. I definitely jumped in the pool as soon as everyone left just to cool off!
