Rachel and Nicholas had a gorgeous winter wedding at The Chapel at the Waters in Pike Road, Alabama. If you’re not familiar with it, the stunning all-white chapel sits atop the hill of The Waters community. Breathtaking views from every angle! Ever since I attended our friends’ wedding at The Chapel almost 7 years ago, I have wanted to photograph a wedding there. I filmed a wedding there a few years ago, but photography is completely different!

As my teeth chattered and my hands started to freeze, Rachel said, “If it couldn’t snow, at least it’s cold!” And man, it was cold! Or more accurately, the piercing wind made it even colder. The new Mr. and Mrs. Worthy didn’t seem to mind the chilly air and it made me think of the song lyrics, “I’ve got my love to keep me warm.” They effortlessly snuggled together during their portraits!

With hints of dusty blue hues, custom lipstick, and signature cocktails, every detail was meticulously planned. Rachel made her own lipstick on her bachelorette trip and it even has its own name – WorthyAF. Their signature drinks, Fizzy Raspberry Rachel and Nicky’s Whisky, were crowd favorites. At the end of the night, the newlyweds walked through a sea of sparklers to their getaway car – an all black G Wagon. Talk about riding in style!

Rachel and Nicholas, thank you for choosing me to photograph your engagement session and wedding! Our paths have crossed at a number of weddings over the years and I’m thrilled to have been part of your big day! I have enjoyed getting to know both of you over the last several months. Your wedding was a beautiful beginning to a beautiful marriage! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Worthy!
