Rachel and Nicholas are getting married at The Chapel at the Waters at the beginning of next year. Naturally, they wanted to do their engagement session in the beautiful neighborhood. I have photographed and attended a handful of weddings at The Chapel, but this was my first time doing an engagement session there and exploring the neighborhood. First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous! Many of the houses reminded me of bay towns in New England. Second, I accidentally drove the wrong way down a one way street trying to get to a spot that I saw on my way in. Nicholas has been a groomsman or a guest at a few weddings I have photographed, but this was my first time meeting Rachel. Talk about an embarrassing first impression! We all had a good laugh about it though 🙂

It’s always so special when my couples include their fur baby in their engagement session. Rachel had a specific plaid bandana in mind for Gunner, but couldn’t find one she liked, so Rachel made it herself! Gunner seemed to be proud to be part of the portraits too. He was so sweet and put his paw on Rachel’s leg when the three of them were posing for a photo. Plus, isn’t it so cute how dogs appear to be smiling when they stick their tongues out??

Rachel and Nicholas, thank you for choosing me to be your engagement and wedding photographer! I can’t get over the perfect sunlight we had – even if it was a little too humid. It meant the world to me when Rachel said, “No wonder they say you’re the best photographer!” at the end of our session and again when Nicholas said why y’all chose me. I cannot wait to deliver your engagement gallery and I’m even more excited for your wedding day! January can’t get here soon enough!
