I first met Hasten when I photographed his dad’s wedding last year. Earlier this year, I had the privilege of taking his older sister’s senior portraits. I’m so thankful that when it came time for Hasten’s senior portraits, his mom contacted me to schedule his session! Photographing senior guys is a lot different from photographing senior girls, but I absolutely love both of them!
You’ll notice that Hasten is proudly wearing his Auburn University vest, but that’s only one of the schools where he is applying. He’s a huge Auburn fan! With his high ACT score and desire to study chemical engineering, Hasten has multiple options for college and a tough decision ahead of him.
Hasten grew up in Safford, so he wanted to do his senior portraits in his hometown just a short 20-minute drive from Selma. From a literal mountain of hay bales to a sweet country church, we hit up a few of their favorite spots and some quickly became my favorite spots. The partly cloudy skies with the sun peeking through and the white walls, doors, and fences made for some breathtaking photos. I love changing up the backgrounds for portraits – especially when all the locations are close to each other! It makes it easy to create unique photos and highlight places you wouldn’t normally think to photograph. Which location is your favorite??
Hasten, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your senior portraits! I had a great time exploring Safford with you and your mom! Thank you for laughing at my silly jokes and my poor attempt at “blue steel” (Zoolander, anyone?). I’m super jealous of your insanely high ACT score and the endless opportunities you have for school. Whichever school you choose to attend will be lucky to have you! Best of luck to you!
I love each and every photo! Hasten, you sure make us proud and we love you so big!
