Dallas County Engagement Session

Posted in: Engagements/Couples

Sam proposed to Jessica at Christmastime and wedding planning began shortly after. Jessica’s mom, Gina, contacted me within days to find out which dates I was available in 2023. It may not seem like a big deal, but it means the world anytime someone chooses their wedding date based on my availability! I am so excited that our schedules aligned so that I could photograph Jessica and Sam’s wedding this year!

We met at their family’s cabin in Dallas County, Alabama for their engagement session. It was so fun to take our time exploring different areas of the property because this will also be their reception venue. I already have a ton of ideas for their husband and wife portraits at many of the same spots we took their engagement photos! One of the advantages of doing your engagement session at the same location as your wedding venue is getting to see which areas have the best light. Luckily for us, ALL the spots we went to had great light! Although some of the photos on the road and by the creek are definitely my favorites!

We joked about taking some photos in the creek, but decided it was way too cold for that. You wouldn’t know it from the pictures, but the water was moving so fast! Plus, the water levels were high, so there were plenty of reasons not to get in the water this time haha. We’ll see how it goes in April 😉

Jessica and Sam, thank you so much for choosing me as your engagement, bridal, and wedding photographer! I know posing for pictures can feel awkward sometimes, but you both absolutely crushed it! Thank you for going along with all my crazy ideas. We are going to have the best time in April! Can’t wait!
