As one of my spokesmodels (and the younger sister of a senior I photographed last year), Savanah already felt like part of the family. Since she lives two hours away, we planned her session right after a spokesmodel shoot to make the most of her drive and it worked out perfectly. The light, the location, and her ideas all lined up for a session that was uniquely hers.
From the minute she stepped out of the car, she was ready. Savanah had a clear vision for what she wanted, inspired by a video she saw on TikTok of a girl in a swing being lifted over the water. Most people would save something like that to their Pinterest board and hope it happens one day, but Savanah and her family actually made it happen. Her grandfather built her swing by hand and her mom’s friend had the pond and tractor needed to bring the whole concept to life. The collaborative effort it took to make it happen was so worth it!
Before we headed to the pond, we explored the property and captured a mix of classic portraits and fun, personality-packed frames. Savanah brought her dog along for a few photos and she made me laugh with her little smile.
We saved the water swing for last, letting the sunlight drop just enough for that soft, golden glow. Watching her be lifted over the water was equal parts graceful and impressive. Savanah stayed poised the entire time, even as the swing swayed and the tractor moved. The photos ended up being everything she imagined: airy, dramatic, and one-of-a-kind.
Savanah, thank you for trusting me with your senior portraits and for being part of my spokesmodel team this year. Photographing you has been such an honor and I’m so grateful you made the drive to spend the afternoon with me. I can’t wait to see all that’s ahead for you!
