J&D Farms Wedding

Posted in: Weddings

What do you get when you cross a near sunset ceremony with a vintage apple orchard?  If you said “dreamy ceremony photos,” you would be correct!  I knew the orchard at J&D Farms was going to be beautiful, but the sun was truly showing off for Gabby and Matt’s wedding ceremony.

I can still hear their sweet flower girl exclaiming, “You did it! Great job!” as Gabby and her dad made it to the end of the aisle.  You couldn’t help but smile!

Gabby and Matt chose to do a first look before their ceremony.  One of the best things about doing a first look is watching the nerves melt away.  There’s something about being with your soon-to-be spouse for most of the day that just eases all your worries.  Plus, it gives us an opportunity for more bride and groom portraits!  I thought it would be tough to top Gabby and Matt’s portraits immediately following the first look.  Then they blew me away with their sunset portraits!  I couldn’t stop showing them photos on the back of my camera because I was so excited!  Each portrait just got better and better.

It’s not often that I have a detail-oriented groom, but when I do the details are on point!  Gabby and Matt both chose the perfect accessories to complete their wedding attire.  Gabby’s dusty blue suede shoes, pearl necklace and bracelet, and diamond earrings were stunning additions to her gorgeous lace bodice gown.  And can we talk about that train?  I mean, wow!  Matt’s engraved leather watch, Virginia Tech cufflinks, and blue bow tie really popped with his navy blue suit and brown leather shoes.  He even included his Burberry cologne, which is always one of my favorite details to photograph!

Gabby and Matt, thank you for asking me to photograph your engagement and wedding!  It means so much to me that you trusted me to memorialize these important milestones based on recommendations from your friends!  I had a great time with you at your engagement session and I KNEW we would have a blast on your wedding day as well!  Y’all are such a fun couple and I’m thankful that I got to be the one to share this part of your love story.  I hope you always look at each other the way you did on your wedding day!
