Cedar Acres Ranch Wedding

A few years ago, I wrote my very first wedding blog. Little did I know that one of the bridesmaids (a cousin of the bride) from that wedding would hire me to photograph her own wedding a few years later!

Madison and Russell got married at a fairly new wedding venue – Cedar Acres Ranch. When we took their engagement photos there at the beginning of the year, they were just opening for business. This was my first wedding at Cedar Acres Ranch, but hopefully not the last! I love the gorgeous white walls everywhere, the open fields, and the way the sunlight peeks through the trees near sunset. My favorite portraits every time I have taken photos here are always in front of the main house just before sunset! So pretty!

If you have followed me for a while, you know that I am a sucker for little details that couples include in their wedding day to make it extra special for them. Madison’s grandfather passed away earlier this year, so she had two pendants wrapped around her bouquet. One pendant was a photo of him and one read, “We know you would be here today, if heaven weren’t so far away.” They also had a reserved seat for him at the ceremony with a photo of him and a single rose. Madison’s garter was made from her grandmother’s wedding dress. The pillow the ring bearer carried for the ceremony was one of Russell’s family’s heirlooms. It was used in his sister’s wedding, his dad’s wedding, and his grandparents’ wedding.

Madison and Russell, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your engagement session, bridal session, and wedding day! None of us expected me to be 37 weeks pregnant at your wedding, but it means so much to me that you still trusted me to photograph your wedding day. You surprised me with the cutest camera-shaped chocolates from In the Kitchen with Laigan and I am still blown away that you thought to give ME a gift on YOUR big day! I hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon and you gobble up all that Thanksgiving food from Paula Deen’s restaurant!
